Day 5: Heavy Trip
This morning I got tickets for Fahrenheit 451 from the nicest french woman. Her name is Louise and I love her. I had thought and had planned on standing outside for hours to beg for tickets but it only took about 40 minutes total.
Next of the list was the American Pavilion. Then I went around and toured Cannes in between screenings. My group and I went to a vegan ice cream place that makes flower cones. It was called Amorino and was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I the saw a wedding and an antique fair and got pretty close to the Cannes sign.
Lastly I went and saw Heavy Trip, which was not what I expected at all. The film seemed like an early 2000's movie and reminded me of Country Bear or New York Minute.
Also I have been trying to find my favorite Vulture writer, Kyle Buchanan, for 5 days now. He keeps tweeting about stuff in my vicinity, yet I cannot find him. The way he writes about films is so far above anything I could ever write myself. In this same vein, an Instagram Buzzfeed post yesterday claimed that Ryan Coogler was going to make a film with the women of Wakanda. They cited his Cannes talk that I was present for and that is not what he said! He was asked if he would and his response was that the idea would be cool, but these posts online are so misleading. Variety tweeted something similar as well.
Now, I am about to get ready for the Fahrenheit 451 premiere which I will discuss in my blog tomorrow!!
